Post Sound system for my Vert

I need some suggestions on replacing the 500 watt (yea right) system on my ss convertible. Will subs work in the trunk. I know with the top down most sound is lost so I dont know what to do. Just thought I would ask the experts.

I have a 10 MTX sub in my trunk, and it works ok with the top down. Its in the stock box and fits perfectly in the trunk space, with half of the trunk left over, I also run an amp to power that and speakers. I think mine is only rated at 350 watts max and it really isn't enough, bass sound could be much better with a 12 inch with more power. I would reccomend one because anything is better than just the stock speakers. You could probably make your own box with some wood, a 15 inch might be to big, I am curently tring to decide on which will be best

My bass is incrediable with the top dowm, and gets better when you put the hard boot on so the sound has to come forward. But I replaced all interior speakers with Bostons, and run those with a alpine amp, then I have one 12 in the truck with a 600 watt shot to that. Check the sig and you can see some shots of what I have done.
