The 12 CD changer is nice if you listen to seeral CDs. The ones without the changers have a in dash CD player which wouldn't be too bad. Many people in this forum will say the monsoon is crap. I personally have no problems with the monsoon other than the CD changer takes a while to recognize to new CDs are in it (and that might just be mine).

I have the indash changer and the 12 disc changer......the in dash player sucks. It skips pretty easy, but the 12 disc in the back is rock solid.

I didn't even know they made 12 disk in dash cd players. Where can you get a descent one at?

It's not in dash, it goes in the hatchback. That little space on the drivers side of the hatchback that looks like it fits a 6 pack, that's where the 12 disc CD changer is on the cars that came with them.

The amp in the system puts out far more power than the speakers can handle with no protection factor. Hence I have had to replace multiple speakers multiple times. Worst part is the system runs 2 ohms impedance, not 4, so you cant swap out the OEM speakers without swapping out the rest of the system. Crappy design if you ask me, although it is probably more than enough stereo for 90% of the world.

a decent deck and some decent speakers ran off the deck sound better than the monsoon, but you still get what you pay for. so don't expect anything better if you buy cheap stuff.

Actually it's the tons of distortion that the amp and HU produce together that keeps killing the factory speakers all the time.
