Sony XPLOD Subs

Sony Xplod subs are the best bang for your buck. I have one 12" sony sub in a competition enclosed box in the hatch of my 95 z28 and it bumps. i have the bass boost turned way down on the amp because the bass is too loud for my highs. but if u want a high quality system for reasonable price go sony.

No attempt to plug Sony XPLOD subs will ever be successful. Sorry.

hey, no intention of putting your opinion down, but:
1} in our cars ANY sub sounds good because of the hatchback set up.
2} its not a good thing to have your bass too loud for your highs, it means you put your system together wrong. a good quality system has equilibrium.

yeah, the hatchback makes a ton of difference. I thought my cheap mtx 10's sounded GOOD in there until I put in my jlw3v2 12's. IMO, setups in which the bass drowns out mids/highs sound like complete sh**. a good setup would normal involve working on your highs/mids and getting them ready for the addition of subs into the system.

I've got all Crossfire equipment in my car. I think the BMF subs are a great compromise of price vs. mind numbing loudness. I used to have Sony subs and they were *alright* at best. They damn sure couldn't have handled their advertised wattage though. The best Sony's I ever had were the "bottlecap" subs. I can't even remember the model number anymore, but they had a silver aluminized cone and a big red aluminum heatsink sitting up above the cone. They were pretty loud, but my BMF's would trounce them any day...and cost less.
