replacing speakers

So my front speakers on my 96 z28 with bose blew out. i want to replace them with some kenwoods i got as a deal from crutchfield, but i keep hearing this crap about rewiring etc.

i originally had an AM FM cassette in the car with the DelcoBose speakers. I replaced the AM FM cassette with an aftermarket Kenwood MP208 HU. I am just wondering if I can just pull off the door panels and remove the old speakers and splice the old wires into the new speaker wires. If not, what do I have to do? How hard is it to rewire the car if I have to, and what do I need to buy?

Thanks guys.
