Remote wire problems

I had originally wired up a line level converter, and plugged my remote wire into the power antenna pin on the harness end of the connector. The thing is, there is no power antenna on my car, so there was no wire in that pin, but it still got power from the back of the head unit.

The problem is that I upgraded to a sony head unit but cannot find an acceptable remote line for the amplifier. The remote (blue) wire on the sony HU goes directly to the empty pin on the factory harness. Since there is NO wire on the car's harness on the power antenna pin, I can't find a wire that will give my sub's amplifier a green light.

Does anyone know of a solution?

just connect it to the blue/white stripe wire from the sony headunit.

well that didn't work either, but I found the dull yellow-colored wire next to where the antenna wire pin is powered up the amp and gave me a green light finally.

Check the wiring diagram of the Sony HU and just run a wire from the Turn-on lead to your amp.

Most likely that yellow wire is a constant power wire, such that your amp will always be on and never turn off, and constantly drain your battery.

Do the install the RIGHT way, don't screw around and jerry-rig it.

Just because there isn't a pin in the factory harness (There NEVER will be for an amp-turn on unless your car has factory amps, and very few do); so you'll always have to run a wire directly from the HU remote turn-on to the amp.

I checked for it being a constant, and not switched on by the ignition already, before I let it stay attached in my car. So, everything is good. I'm not a novice at car audio, I just didnt know what to do when I couldn't get either the power antenna OR the remote wire to work.

I totally forgot to mention above, now that I have read it a few times that I never specified that the remote wire from the sony didn't give power and turn on the amp, therefore I was really puzzled trying to find something that worked.
