remote starter for manuel transmissions

A while back i read on the internet somewhere that there was one or two companies that made remote car starters that would work for manuel transmission vehicles. Does anyone know where i can find out more about this?

I beleive that they all will work but you have to disconnect the nuetral safety switch in order fo it to work. I'm not sure if its called that but its the switch that get activated when the clutch is pressed. After you disconnect it you will be able to crank the motor without pressing down on the clutch. If you do it just make sur that you don't leave your car in gear when you try to remotely start your car!!

The company is Clifford. The alarm is the avantgaurd. I'm not a big fan of clifford, but if you have a manual transmission and you want a remote start, that's about the only way to do it safely. I have a manual and I used a DEI alarm. It can be done, but yes, it can start in gear - and has... It's never inexpensive when that happens and it WILL happen to you... Maybe even after someone like a mechanic or someone else drives your car. (you always think that you'll be smart enough not to do that, but everyone has their stupid moments).

Yes, you're in the right forum for this and might be able to search for previous posts on this, you can also ask around at LS1.com, I'm not the only one that has done it. I'm also not the only one that advises against it...

welllll, just be careful with the remote starters...a thief can start your car as easily as you can. that's why i'd rather do it manually...although remote starters are cool

any remote start that is worth a crap has a starter kill function in it that is just (or more) effective than the VATS chip in the key thing... just a thought...
