Recomend me some replacement speakers!

My car has the factory bose 3 speaker setup, and one of them is blown, so I figured I would just get 4 aftermarket ones, run new wire, and put in an Alpine deck I have sitting around. Anyone know of some good sounding speakers that can be had for ~$100 (thats for all 4). I will be adding a JL12w6 sub, so they dont need to have bass at all, just sound good through the midrange and highs. Thanks!

You may wish to spend a LITTLE bit more....the only thing that comes to mind is some of the Alpines - as they are generally pretty efficient, have low RMS requirements ideal for deck power, and are decent quality for the price.... These are the only that meet the $100 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_40.html, look under 6.5" speakers and you'll find more Alpines that cost a little more.

Alpine SPS-170A, will be exactly $100 for all 4. They are discontinued, and not easy to find. Pretty descent coaxials.

Same here - it's just hard to keep it under $100.

If you search around, you can find a set of Boston Acoustics S65 for between $60 - $80.00. That would make four for $120 - $160.00, but they're definitely worth it.

Infinity 6012i 6.5 inch. Best bang for your buck and under $60 since these are last years models http://cgi.ebay.com/INFINITY-REFEREN...QQcmdZViewItem
Check the reviews here http://www.crutchfield.com/S-LLNc4b3...arch=6012i#Tab
I have 4 of these in my 1994 Z hooked up to a kenwood x589 HU and they do not distort at all on max volume. I got all 4 from Fry's for less than $40 a set on closeout... originally was $100 a set. These are by far the best bang for your buck

Just be careful with Infinity if you don't like "brighter" sounds.

You're not going to get good speakers for 100$. I bought some 20$ speakers the day I got my HU put in cause that's all I could afford that day and I busted half of them in 2 months. Pony up the for the good stuff.

+1 for the infinity 6012's. I had them in my '99 powered off the deck and they were pretty decent.

I had 2 w6s in my V6 with the stock speakers, sounded fine. Just dont send any bass to the speakers and they work great.
