rear speaker don't work after install
I just installed some Infinity rear speakers in my 98 Z/28.
It had a stock basic stereo and the CD player died so I put in a Pioneer CD player and it worked fine after installing it.
I then threw in the Infinity rear speakers (blue wire to positive terminal on speaker). After hooking one up I turned the radio on and checked it and it sounded like **** so I stopped by Circuit City and the guy looked at the rear speakers (I have two in the doors, two in front of the rear seats and two in the hatch) well he said the rear speakers are 2 ohms each so they act like one speaker so I should just hook up the Infinity's and disconnect the rear speakers in the hatch area.
Well, I tried that and now they dont' do anything?
I tried moving the balance just to the rear and can't hear dick.
WTF?

I would take the speakers out and test them on something that you KNOW works, then try re-installing them.
If you disconnected the hatch speakers, they might have been connected to the speakers in question.
Also in my camaro, the speakers you're referring to were the "subs".
How did you hook up the HU? did you use a little converter deal or wire it seperate?

Yea, it looks like the middle speakers are subs and the high end sounds go to the speakers in the hatch.
I'm going to just run some new speaker wires off of the connector harness that goes between the factory stereo wiring harness and the new radio.
Thanks,
Marc
