Ram Air intake neon

I know I'll catch some "ricer" flack for it, but I always wanted to do this. I put them on a switch so I don't get in trouble with the law...

I think it looks pretty cool. I would try to make the lights a bit on the dim side so it doesn't scream LOOK AT ME!!! when you use them.
Does it get in the way of any air flow?

Re: Ram Air intake neon

I put them on a switch so probably about 95% of the time, they'll be off. At most, I'll probably use them to show emotion ( ) if someone cuts me off at night. Give a quick flip on and off...
It doesn't restrict air flow, the tubes are small, and there is nothing in the vents themselves. I lined them with foil tape and tucked the tubes down below.

Re: Ram Air intake neon

I had a Neon tube in there for a while and didn't like it; it wasn't bright enough. I've now got an LED bar in there (Actually a LED 3rd brake light from a Nissan worked perfect); and it looks looks much better.

Had it that way for years; always get compliments, and it works great; infact I never turn it off.

I have to ask how u ran the wire though? I drilled 2 holes; one in the airbox area, and another near the hinge and fished it through; to keep everything clean.

Re: Ram Air intake neon

I ran the wires behind the back baffle. I shoved them up and then pulled them back down through the back, then routed them down the hood to the passenger side by the computers. Passed them through the grommet, across along the firewall under the carpet and on to the console...

If you hadn't posted the pic, and just told us what you did, I would have said it sounded ricey, but that looks pretty badass. Let's see a nighttime shot with the headlights and fogs on too!

They look like nostrils on a dragon, or something. Definitely a good idea

When i saw the title, i thought you wanted to put ram air on a dodge neon

That looks good, i might do something like that with my SS hood after i get a normal CAI.
