Unhappy Putting a CD player in my 95Z28...nightmare..please help

Alright here's the deal.....i'm not exactly an expert in installing radios but my friend knows a fair amount...we did one in my winter car no problem....anywho i'm going to go by an install kit for it and the guys tell me that i hafta buy a adapter for it because it has a factory amp with the Bose system, so he shows me this blue box thing that i hafta use.....I buy a scosche adapter for it and this scosche blue box for factory amp adapting. Well we wire it all up and go to put it in my car....well we adjust the gain and everything...but it's all static and yes i plugged in the antenna i got the adapter one for the antenna too....you can hear the radio but it sounds like it's turned way high and the music isn't loud...it does it even when you mute the stereo. I think it might be a bad ground because this blue box has a separate ground that we just grounded with the other two grounds. Do i need to put it to a separate ground and that will eliminate the problem? Also the CD portion of the CD player doesn't work....it plays but you don't get any music. The guy that i bought it off of just took it out of his truck and it was working fine, he's a good friend so i saw it working before he took it out so it has to be me. Any info would be appreciated. Thanx

This recent thread might be of help

You have to plug the blue power antenna wire from the dash to the head units amp turn on wire to activate the factory amp. But you might have bypassed the factory amp with whatever the blue box thing is, so this may not be applicable.

the reason you are not getting audio from the cd is because when you hooked up the amp turn on wire you connected it to the radios power ant. turn on wire, so when you switch to cd it cuts power to that wire which then turns off power to the amp, you need to go to the amp turn on wire of the deck, if it doesnt have one then hook it to the red ignition wire.

Thats what I had to do to get my stuff working. I got a set of 3 way terminals from PepBoys, crimped them really good and everything seems to be working ok for now.
