Problems with stock deck and CD-R...

My radio is having problems with a CD-R I just made. It will work, but only like once out of twenty times putting it in, and when it does work, I can't skip tracks or go to the radio and back to the CD, or I get an "E20" message. I have the stock single disc unit, in a '95 T/A.

Is there any known issues with these radios? The CD works fine in any other player, like my home stereo, but my friend made me a CD a few years ago, and it works fine in the car. Does brand have anything to do with it? I used a Memorex CD-R, and Nero Burning ROM thorugh Lite-On 48/12/48 burner. Any suggestions?

It's most likely the media you are using. Try different media such as Verbatim Data Life, Fujifilm, Prime Periphials and Maxells. One of them is most likely to work.

OK, thanks. Yeah, I had a feeling that might have had something to do with it. I'll pick some different ones up and give it a try.

It's possible the deck will give problems with all CD-R media. I have a Kenwood changer that doesn't like any CD-R media. Probably because they were manufactured before recordable cd's were widely available, and are made to Redbook Specification.
