Pioneer ipod adapter...

I have the premier DEH-860Mp. I am wondering if this ipod adapter will display the song titles and other song information on my cd-player's screen. It says some functions might be lost...so has anybody hooked this into your pioneer cd player with an ipod? Thanks in advance.

the ipod adapter is the CD-IB100.

I don't have that specific one, but I can tell you what I know... I have a Kenwood iPod adapter in mine, which has the same features but also warns that some may not be supported by certain head units.

After reading the site though, your head unit isn't even listed under compatible units. It will probably work though, and if not you can always send it back. If your display is capable of complex words (not alarm clock letters), you will probably be able to see the song/playlist titles.

I'll warn you though, if you want to actually be able to find songs, you need to make playlists. You can't actually find an individual song unless you scroll through all of them. Since the head unit is tricked into thinking the iPod is a CD Changer, playlists can be selected by pressing the AM/FM buttons (on mine at least). You'll want to make a few playlists in iTunes with your favorite songs so you can navigate.

The pioneer ipod adapter is OK at best if you have alot of music on your ipod the navigation is absolultely horriable. I would go with this cable it will charge ipod, give you the line out for sound, costs alot less, and you retain all controls from your ipod which in my opinion is the way to go. I use this cable in all my cars and love it. http://sonicelectronix.com/item_6761.html
