non monsoon details

I have a 97 camaro, tape deck in the front 12 disc in the back. all origional gm stuff. says delco on tape deck. I have the gm amp by where my spare tire would normally be. are my speakers all running at 2 ohms like the monsoon stereos? I have ordered a pioneer deh-p8600mp cd player, can i now buy any speakers i want for my car? and will my speakers be able to go into my 99 camaro with the 500w monsoon? almost every speaker in the monsoon car is blown.

any ideas for me?

Ill probably be adding a 10" sub to my 97. and my 200w kenwood amp.

Match your speakers to the amp(s) you'll be installing.

The HU has 6 rca outputs, so you should be fine at driving a set of front & rear speakers + sub. No need to have speakers in the hatch area. You'll never hear them anyways.

I installed full range components in the doors, and midbass in the sail panels .

Take a look at the 5th post down.

Re: non monsoon details

since im not keeping the stock head unit i can forget about the entire monsoon/gm usual replacements? I have a set of 4 way pioneer 220 watt 6.5"s, would something like those work in the doors? and the rockford 6.5" midbass 300w in the sails? would that be all i need? my hatch speakers are already 4 ohm speakers so i dont need to replace them.

How should i wire the 4 new speakers to the new head unit? or should i run them all off of the amp.? I have a 200w kenwood amp, just something i have lying around. if it sounds better than the stock stereo i will probably hold off on the sub in the trunk.

am i going to be using the stock cross overs? and will the speakers i remove go directly into my 99 camaro with the monsoon 500w system?

ps. i wont be needing my origional gm amp correct?

well i'll be installing some 8" subs in the sail panels, and i will be running them to my kenwood amp. the rear 4" speakers i will run from my head unit, and im still not sure about the door speakers. I'll probably do the coaxle 6.5" speaker, run the tweeter to the deck and the speaker to my amp.

that should do the trick right? I just need to wire up the car and wait for the parts.
