So, The previous owner of the 94 z28 I purchased has some very retarded wiring going on. There was a horrible off brand HU that kept shorting out. I replaced it with a basic Sony unit from my old car that worked fine. The front and rear speakers seem to work fine with the radio on. Only thing I noticed is there seems to be almost no low freq. passing through and the button for volume makes an extra loud chirp through the fronts when pressed. The rears have hardly any bass even when messing with settings. When I play a CD however, the fronts do not come on at all. The rear has some of its bass back. I checked the wiring and I patched it the best I could. The rear are actually hardwired to the deck harness and the fronts are connected to the factory lines into the car harness. I noticed a lot of wiring from what used to be an amp behind the passenger front seat. All of it is disconnected. I tested the deck back in my mustang and it worked great with or w/o CD. Any suggestions?
