New member, need HELP

Hello I'm new on here and I need some help. I have a 2000 z28 and it has a cassette player and I was going to get the stock cd p layer that normally would come in the car. If I do this what will I have to do about the theft lock security system? Will I have to activate the new cd player so it will work in my car, and also will the stock cd player hook right up to the same wires that the cassette player used??? Thanks!!

The CD player will be a direct swap with the tape player. There will be no wiring issues to deal with. Just unplug the tape player and plug in the CD player. Make sure that if the tape player has theft lock that you deactivate it or you will run into that if you try to sell or reuse the tape player. I do not know where you are getting the CD player from, but if it has the theft lock activated you will not be able to use it unless you are able to get the password from the previous owner. You do not need to calibrate the CD player to match your car you just need to make sure that the theft lock was deactivated by the previous owner before he removed it from his vehicle or get the password and then just enter it when it is installed. The best possbile situation would be if the previous owner never even activated the theft lock. Hope this helps.
