need speaker help please

i have an '00 Z28, with the 500 watt monsoon 6-speaker system. my front 2 speakers blew.

my friend has an '02 Trans Am with the 500 watt monsoon 10-speaker system (he has upgraded).

so my friend gave me his front 2 speakers, and the 2 tweeters that go up there also.

how the hell do i convert the system where i can plug in his front speakers/tweeters combo into my front speaker connection and still get the same sound i had before? is that possible? is that recommended, or is it too much work?

the adaptor that you plug the camaro speaker into (the adaptor/connector coming out of the car door) is the same adaptor you can plug the midbass of the TA speaker in - that is JUST the midbass, not the extra tweeter. the extra TA tweeter has a separate, different connector that doesn't exist within the camaro. obviously, the camaro speaker has the tweet built into it, whereas in the TA speaker, the tweet is a separate unit.

so can you hook up JUST the midbass (since the connector only will allow just that). or do you have to do some really funny wiring in order to get the tweeter wired in also? would it sound fine if i just put the midbass in, and not the tweeter? would it blow the midbass or the amp? i don't know where the hell i would mount the tweeter anyway, and it seems simpler just leaving the tweet out... let me know, thanks!

what you could actually do is to just splice the wires together. There should be a tweeter wire on the front speakes and just splice into that. The woofer should be fine since there's a hook up for it

mm were would you fint that tweeter wire on the front speakers if hes useing the ta ones??

Im guessing the amp is differnt providing you extra leads for speakers at different fequenceys.
Spliceing in a set of tweeters where there not sopposed to go can ruin them fast and not give you the highs you want. tweeters need crossovers if the sound isnt just highs coming thru the wires.
To be positive of what your doing get ahold of a set of your wire diagrams for your sound system and for your buddies too there youll see where those tweets hook to. Chiltons and haynes repair manual should have these diagrams.

The POS Monsoon door tweets should already have a small cap glued to them for their crossover. If the cap isn't there do not connect the tweet in parallel with the woofer or you'll blow it.
