Need Help Wiring LED's

-^~^-^~^- Need Help Wiring LED's -^~^-^~^-

OK people I'm looking to add a little light to my interior I recently seen a guy add L.E.D.'s to his head liner to add more light ,color and depth to his interior and they came out pretty good! So I was looking to do the same.. My only problem is my I'm no electrician! And need a little help with resistors and wiring.. So here is my idea ( picture below) can some one please draw me up something similar to show how I should wire it , what fuses to work with and where should I get the power from.....? I purchased another headliner to kind of play around with and determine how I plan to add the holes to the fabric with out causing the headliner to peal or become damaged. . .

Re: Need Help Wiring LED's

children....

you need to go look up an LED String Resistor Calculator and know what LEDs you are using. Break up your LEDs into parallel strings "X" number of LEDs long wired in series, wire in the correct resistor and switch and you're good to go. As for where to get power, that's a wire you're going to have to figure out yourself. There are a bunch around that you can use; but look at the stereo antenna power wire as a starting point, although it will make your switch wires long.

Re: Need Help Wiring LED's

also as for adding holes to the fabric/foam...

a red-hot awl works great and doesn't let the fabric fray.
