Need help with factory raido...PLEASE

OK so when I got the 89 IROC in August it had an aftermarket radio in it but it also included the factory tape deck with the eq. built in. There was one harness still plugged into the radio with the wires snipped close. When I removed the radio bezel and took out the after market radio I noticed the installer did not bother spending the $10 that it costs for the wiring harness jumper so there was one OE harness still attached to the speaker wires but one of the harnesses was missing... If you don't know or haven't figured it out, the radio requires 3 harnesses, fronts, rears, power/gound.

So I went to a Upull and Pay junk yard and found a Camaro with a similar radio, no EQ but who cares. I rip apart the dash and cut out the three required harnesses, take them home, match up all the colors on the wire and plug it in. Everything works perfectly except one thing.... when you shut the car off, it does not remember the time, the presets and it returns to AM 1400 as a channel. So... I am thinking:

1. A problem with the radio.
2. A problem with the harness.
3. One of my splices is not connected good
4. Any other thoughts?

Retained power problem. I don't know the color code for the 3rd gens, but you should be able to find it on the web. They might call it the "memory" wire.

the constant 12 volt wire is either not hooked up correctly or there is a blown fuse
