Need help on design
its on a sunfire (pontiac)
well my system is done, but... i have the receiver on the 4 speakers and amp on subs, easy..
he just got a 4 piece component system and 2 6x9s in the back (all infinity kappa) well he has a 4 channel amp already (my old one), and wants to put an amp to everything, does he need another amp on the 6x9s? he said that he would just not put anything on the front speakers and only on the back 2 and the 6x9s, i said that prob wouldnt sound to good...
any comments, reply or email binkyboy88@***.net

He should really loose the 6x9's in the back. They will destroy his soundstage.... but I guess I won't get into that whole topic here.
If he must...... Your saying he has 2 amps total, correct? One for the subs and a 4 channel for the rest? And when you say he has a "4-piece" component set, you mean two mids and two tweets right? If it is indeed a component set it would have came with two small crossovers. You hook the speakers to the crossover and then to the amp. So each set (one on the left and one on the right) really counts as one speaker....... as far as the amp knows. So you would just wire each 6x9 to their own channel and each "set" (left and right) to their own channel. Hope I didn't confuse you.
Now, if he only has the one 4 channel amp, how does he have his subs wired to it? Bridge 2 channels together?

hehe thx, i told him, dont get the sub yet (he hasnt), i said let us hook the component (2 tweets, and 2 mids), up to the 4 ch amp, and see how it sounds... then the 2 6x9s to the receiver or a smaller amp... and yea he ahs the crossovers...
