i have an Audiobahn Alum-10 sub that i had hooked up with an Ulitmate DT2-800 amp (crap). the amp went out and now i'm looking for something else.

the sub is a 10" 800watt RMS (yes, RMS) with dual 6 ohm voice coils. i'm looking to run it pretty good, but i don't need to push it to it's full potential.

since it's dual 6 ohm, it'll crossover to 3 ohm, and i figure it's better to go with something that's going to bridge to 4 ohm than bridge to 2 ohm.

shopping around the car stereo stores i wanted you guy's opinions on the following...

Crossfire VR302: this is what i am considering buying. is crossfire a good brand? this guy uses it in his competition cars (has won an ASSLOAD of competitions) i've never heard much about it though. the thing i worry about though is that it seems relatively inexpensive, especially online, for supposedly such a great brand. he will sell me one for $239, i can find one online for $165, though i'm hesitant about buying online now that i've waited over a month for my digital camera [] anyway...

JL Audio 250.1: i know JL Audio is a good brand, but the lowest i've found for this amp, which i believe would be adequate to run my sub, is $349.... that's an extra $100 or more if i bought the Crossfire online.

what would you guys suggest about these two or any others you know of? what would be good to run my sub and keep me under $300? this doesn't mean that it has to be LIST $300, just something that i can probably find a sale on that will put it under 3.

 

JBL is the best value for sub amps. PM me if you need a good place to pick one up, I know of a couple.
