Monsoon amp?
Monsoon amp?
I was wondering if it was a true amp or just some sort of cheap crossover, becuase I heard a BIG difference in the sound when I swaped head units to my Alpine. If it is a true amp, why does it sound louder now? The only thing I can think of is cleaner output reproduction.
Re: Monsoon amp?
I want to know what would be the best idea to running a new amp setup, I have a Sub amp running off one set(rear) preamp jacks. I also have a 2 channel amp I want to run for the rear deck speakers. I also want to run the third amp a 4 channel to the front and middle speaker sections. I know I can most likely use a line amp converter for the rear middle, but would it be wise to use a Y conector for the rear channels? I fear a small lose of signal or a possible noise conduction. That is the only reason that the reardeck is still hooked to the POS Monsoon amp. They are Infinity 4X6 plate units with seaprate tweeter and 4" woofer (these made a heck of a difference over the dual cone crappers that was in there). My subs run off a 100X2 amp and I want to run 50X2 to those Infinities and 50X4 to the front/middle (when I get two sets of 6 1/2" to replace those factory junkers.) My thinking is to use the Y for my back speakers and sub. use the converter for the middle, and the front preamp from the Alpine to run the door speakers. Any thoughts to this?
