well i went to get some components for my tahoe today, but i couldn't decide on which speakers to get. it's the infinity reference, mb quart discus or clarion proaudio 6.5 components for $100. i had a pair of infinity kappa 6x9 speakers a couple of years ago and they were awesome. i have no previous experience with mb quart or clarion though. for the price which speakers are better?

Speaker selection is really something you need to decide for yourself. You can't buy speakers on another's recommendation without hearing them for yourself first. In my experience Infinity speakers have great tweeters but their midbass performance is very poor. Quart tweeters tend to sound too harsh to my ears. I've never heard Clarion so I can't comment on them. I've been using Polk Audio in my '95 Tahoe since it was new. The MM3065 Mobile Monitor line of speakers were their top of the line at the time and they still sound great to this day.

I agree with LS1 Rulz as in its all personal prefrence. I personally LOVE my MB Quarts.
