Looking to get a system for my 97 camaro

Help me make a list.

Box: T-top box from sub thump.
Subs: Kicker square l7 12". Or kicker round competitve 12" subs.
Amp: ?
Cd player: Pioneer i like.
Other: Wires, stuff to install the subs.

Box: No more than $300
Pair of subs: No more than $500
Amp: Not real farmiliar with prices.
Cd player: No more than $300 unless i decide i want a dvd/cd player then i will spend no more than $550

Questions:

Are square subs better than round?
Has anyone heard kicker subs before? I have speakers that i bought from them last year and i am very happy with them, so im guessing they makde good subs.
Is ebay alright to buy subs from? I seen that the square kicker l7's are $300 each. But on ebay i seen people saying them brand new and they are only like $350 and you get two of them. Thats like 2 for the price of one.

Baically just help me fill in my list with what i should get. I dont have alot of knowledge about what is good and best for your money because i never shopped for subs before.

Thanks for the help.

i have always used the kicker cvr i love them if you put enough power on them they will be loud. A lot of people buy squares and dont put enough power on them always rember it is better to over power your subs instead of under power

How About Elemental Designs Sub(s)

I have the 11.K2 and it rocks for the price. It actually replaced an Xtant Sub that cost 2x the price and it sounds MUCH Better

I've heard a number of different Subs (JL, Kicker Comp, Punch, etc..) and I don't think you'll beat ED sound for the price. Also note depending on what your looking for Subthump sells loaded boxes with ED Subs, so you may even be able to get 1 stop shopping

I bet an 13K.v2 would rock

You may also want to try out an ED 9.1 Amp to mate up to the sub as well

Also note if your really just looking for good clean sound: I have something similar to a Subthump Stealth Enclosure, which is nice, but will only hold a 10" Sub. The Bass is there just not Heart Stopping, but I felt the need to maintain the T-Top Holders, as 95% of the time I drive the car T-Tops are off
