Keyless copier?
Keyless copier?
A couple weeks ago on spring break, on the plane they have those catalogs and I found something where you place your original keyless remote next to the "copier" and it will copy the codes.
Obviously you would have to be close enough for the copier to catch the transmitting code, but are these things something to be worried about?
I tried to find you guys an example but I didn't find it on the website.

These have been around for a while now. There was talk about thieves using Palm Pilots to determine the frequency sent to and from car alarms. Older factory keyless entry systems probably are at risk to these types of devices. Newer car alarms feature some type of code-hopping, so even if a thief used a device to record the frequency emitted, it would be no use to them unless they knew the algorithm to determine the next sequential frequency. I guess what it comes down to is you should never leave valuables in plain sight when you park your car. Honestly, the MAJORITY of thefts I hear about around here have to do with people leaving their car doors open, partially opened windows, etc. As long as you're not careless you have successfully greatly reduced your chances of being robbed.
