Kenwood Experts? Changer problems....

I had a Kenwood KRC-503 casette deck controlling my Kenwood KRC-603C 10 CD changer. WOrks great, but the deck is low wattage and doesn't match my dash color so I am bought a Kenwood KDC-2025 reciever. When I plug in my CD changer, I can hear the CD changer power up, but it won't play and the deck won't switch to Aux mode to allow me to use the changer. When I disconnect the changer, I can access Aux mode so I can plug in the changer and sometimes it will sort of work. The CD will play but I can't change tracks or discs. Any ideas? Broken deck or incompatible hardware?

some decks like pioneer sometimes you have to enable the aux input. check your owners manual to see if thats the case.
