Just Hooked Em Up!!!

I just hooked up my 2 sony xplode subs... they are the 5 sided ones... i have a mono block 800 watt son amp pushing them... i used 4 guage power and 8 guage speaker wire and they JAM... my friend with 2 fosgate he2's on a v12 is selling his because he wants the same that i got... anyone else has this setup?? anyway, just letting all know that Sony has made a comeback and their new series jams....

Sorry to burst your bubble.. but Sony's car stereo stuff is VERY low on the todem pole right now...

And your friends RF's with the Alpine amp should sound very good if installed in a box that is for the subwoofers.

Most often what has happened in your situation is that the enclosure that you have your sony's in is close to what it should be for your subs... whereas his box for his RF's is way off from what it should be for his box.

Plus there are a LOT of other variables that make one system sound better or louder than another.

I'm not even going to comment of the Sony vs. Fosgate thing....... I'm laughing at the overkill on speaker wire!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!
