Installing Sub / Amp

I have a 4ch kenwood amp and i am probably going to buy a stealthbox sub for the drivers side soon. I think I will be able to install my amp no problem, it will probably be going in the spare tire area. But I need to know what all need to be done with the wiring and stuff. Is it really hard, or could I do it myself? I assume it shouldn't be to bad. Anyone have any tips / instructions on routes to run my wires and everything else I might need to know to install this. I have a basic 1-1/2 yr old Pioneer H/U.

Thnx.

To be honest it's really not that hard, just time consuming if you do it right. Do you already have all the wires? If not make sure you get high quality wires and at least 8 gauge ( I would just go with 4 gauge to get the most out of your system). The best place to run the wires is down the passenger side of the car because the battery is on that side and there is an existing grommet that goes through the firewall on that side also. To find this grommet you need to open the hood and remove the pcm from it's location against the firewall on the passenger's side. To do this loosen the 2 10mm bolts and pick up and slide the pcm out of the way. You should see the grommet on the firewall. Feed the wire from the engine bay to the inside the car. You will have to remove the black cover from underneath the glove box to gain access to the wire that you feed through the firewall. The opening is hard to find at first but just feel your way around until you get a hand on the wire then pull it through. Then just remove the interior on the passenger side to run the wire to the rear of the car. Decide on a good place to mount the amp (if you put it in the spare tire area make sure you isolate the amp from any metal surfaces with rubber spacers. This may sound like a lot to do but its really not, just take your time and do it right the first time.
