Installing an amp w/ the factory HU

I know this has been discussed a lot but i searched and couldnt really find any clear answers. What exactly do I need to use my stock monsoon system w/ my aftermarket amp/sub. Thanks for the help!

Re: Installing an amp w/ the factory HU

you just need some line convertors if your amp doesn't have high inputs(which are the negative and positive wires) otherwise you need to get the line convertors to run the low outputs which are those RCA connectors. ITs actually real simple to install. there is that PAC line convertor thing that connects to the stock wire harness, so all you do is plug and go, no cutting wires. http://www.ls1.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=28 look here at the facts page to see it.

I've read about the PAC OEM-1 but i think i'm just gonna get the line out converter and just splice a few wires. Does anyone know exactly what wires you have to splice?
Thanks for the help James

you need to splice the speaker wires here is the diagram that tells you. http://www.houston-f-body.org/tech/monsoon/HeadUnit.htm I prefere not getting the PAC as wel since you can take out the line convertors and use them on another car. You will need to cut the wire for the power antena to run your amp remote, I belive it is the pink wire. The power for the amp should be run striaght to the battery and the ground should be run next to the amp, if its to long you'll get noise.
