im lost, im really really lost(speakers)
ok so im horrible at electronics, i have vowed to never touch any electrical wires again. But my 2000 SS m6 has the monsoon sound system, buttons on the steering wheel, a big sub, you know the works.
Problem is, my front passenger side speaker is starting to go i think, its making noise, like a kind of cracking and vibrating, but only when i turn it up really loud.
Question is, what should i do? can i take it some like, speaker mechanic(for lack of a better term) like those geek squad guys at best buy. Should i replace it? if so with what and how?
I just get the feeling my speaker is going to blow out sooner than later and i just want to be ready and know what to do.
Thanks!!!

Re: im lost, im really really lost(speakers)
Without gutting the entire system (Due to a monsoon system); just order a factory replacement speaker (Either new or off ebay), and just pull the door panel, remove 3 screws, unplug the old speaker, plug in the new and re-assemble.
Going with aftermarket speakers in a Monsoon system is not recommended unless you gut everything, which u probably don't want to do.
