Post How to take door panels off?

Ok I have a 2000 Z and just got a Alpine 7894 HU. I love the way it looks but I heard I can't just wire it directly to the monsoon amp. Long story short, I actually listened to the circuit city guy on how I had to bypass the amp and did, but now some run and some don't blah blah its all messed up and sounds like ***..... So I'm thinkin of just clipping the monsoon wires and take out the front and mid speakers and replace them with better speakers. I would want to do this myself though since I don't wanna pay any install fee and save $$.

So how hard is it to take the door pannel off and put it back on without damaging anything? How long will it take to take them off? I'm fairly good with wiring stuff, I ust never took the door off, the mids will be easy for me to replace.

Yes, once you've removed ALL the screws it is that easy.

Ok now on to Q 2 : If I upgrade my speakers which should I get? I want a good sounding speakers with decent bass (at least better bass then stock) for a good price. Since I work at circuit city I get speakers 50% off (I think). So I narrowed my choices to either Alpine S series or Infinity 652I. I hear that the alpines sound just as good and more reliable... any other suggestions on speakers are welcome.

Also if I do upgrade the speakers, should I just replace the front and middle speakers, and not even bother with the rears... or should I upgrade all 6?

I would think that only the front and middle ones would need to be replaced and screw the rears....

Do you plan on adding an external amp or running off the HU alone?

Do you want component speakers (separates) or co-axial?

Do you plan on adding a subwoofer?

Forget all about the hatch area speakers whatever you do. They're a waste of time and money. Between the Infinity speakers and the Alpine I'd go with the Alpine. Alpine's speakers have gotten a lot better and a lot of people aren't all that happy with the mid-bass performance of Infinity speakers.

Well after listening to both the alpine and the infinity speakers, the infinity just sounded a bit better (to me at least) so I bought those. They are the co-axial, I would have gotten a component system but I just don't have the $$$ and I think these infinities sound awesome. Right now they will be run on the internal amp in my Alpine 7894 (60x4). I do plan on gettin a amp for them in the future as well as subs... but thats not gonna be till next year.

I got 6 1/2's for the front and mid speakers, and I'm leavin the hatch ones alone. I'm gonna be wiring mostly everything tonight so I'll tell you how it comes out.
