I'm getting an LCD screen for my car and I see TFT mentioned a bit. How import is it to have a clear visible picture? Any screen reccomedations?

 

Aside from the fact that that question kind of answers itself, I don't think they put any other kind of LCD in car stereos. I might be wrong, but I've never seen dual-scan or HPA screens in stereos. If you've never seen dual-scan or HPA on laptop computers, they are fuzzy and slow to respond to inputs.
