How to hook up fan to amp

I have a bunch of computer fans and i want to hook 1 or 2 up in my truck to keep my amp cool. How would I go about doing this...do I need to use a relay? Do I put the fan right on the amp and have it blow the heat out or do I put it next to the fan and have it blow air onto the amp?

you would need to wire a relay or switch to control the fans, don't use the remote wire. The best thing would be to get air blowing across the amp so one blowing towards it and the other sucking away from it on the other end.

That's more of a design for a box or other closed environment where an entire flow path is needed. In open air you just need to get a source of cool air and use the fans to move it towards the amp. You should feel a breeze when you hand is on the amp, otherwise the fans are too far away.

In that case, I would have one air feeding fresh air into the space. Then on the other end have the fan pulling air out of the space. You may have to get creative depending on your box design. If you cant then just put the fans down in there to keep the air from staying stagnant.

What kind of relay do I need to get? And do computer fans require 12V, 5V, and ground hook up or just 12V and ground? I'm planning on putting 3 fans in the trunk. 2 blowing across and 1 on the fan blowing air away. Hopefully now it will not shut down with 2 ohms
