How do I hook this thing up?

I have a blaupunkt radio with front and rear preamp outs, and I just bought a sub and a used alpine amp. There are no instructions with the amp and I had a few questions. I will be bridging the amp and theres a switch on it for input mode. Should it be on ch-1 (mono), st, or ch-1+2? and do I hook up the RCA cables to the head unit to the front or rear preamp outs?

I can get it to work now, but what is the right way to do it and make it sound best?

I scanned in a pic of the switch so you guys can take a look.

I plan on runnin left and right rca cables since I dont have a mono output on the radio, so I am guessing that the mono setting is not gonna work, so its either ch 1&2 or st.
thanks
-Ted

If you have some more info about the sub and amp taht would be great. Maybe model numbers or something? Bridging the amp isin't always the best for every situation. I can't view your pic for some reason, but you will want the switch on 1+2 to bridge. Does the woofer have a dual voice coil design (DVC) or single. IE. single 2 ohm, dual 4 ohm, etc. I really need some more info before I can tell you exactly how to hook it up.

Its a single 4 ohm Kenwood 10". Bridging is no problem. I have a coustic amp that is bridged to power the sub now, I got the Alpine and it has this switch the other didnt, and i just needed to know what to put it on. And do I use front or rear pre-amp outs for the sub?

The rear outs. Ok, single 4 ohm is perfect. Most amps are not stable below 4 ohms when bridged. Anything else?

Thumbs down

ANY amp I buy is stable below 4 ohms...and I get something in writing from the company! Right now, I'm running 1.5 ohms on a Fosgate 300S. Believe it or not...I have an e-mail from them stating that it's ok. Although...if they hadn't told me so...I wouldn't have done it.
