Help with system

I have an Alpine 9833 head unit installed. I plan on putting Focal 165K in the front (already own) and an Alpine Type R sub in a stealth box. I am confused about what amp I need to power them.
My HU amp is 60 watts max, so I quess its not enough for the Focals, right?
So, which amp, channels, watts do I need????

I'd get a 4ch and run the Focals off 2 channels, and bridge the other 2 for the sub.

I'd also suggest a 100W rms x 4 @ 4 ohms amp, that'll have plenty of power for the sub, and feed the Focals nicely.

What's your budget for an amp?

P.S. that 60W x 4 is more of a max rating, and the output from a HU is HORRIBLY distorted, and add-on amp is a LOT cleaner power for your speakers.

Well, that's about what I paid for my Kicker (75Wx4, KX600), but take your pick, I'd say Hifonics, Kicker, Orion, US Amps, RF is ok, Pretty much anything except Rockwood, Pyle, etc...

The Type R's I believe the 10" and the 12" subs are both 300 Watts RMS. Deffinetally get an amp that will push the 300 Watts RMS. You bought a good sub, you might as well get all the sound you can out of it. Check Profile amps. They are really good quality and they are decently priced. I just got the Profile CA-1200 for a little under $200 and that will push 300 watts RMS each to both of my 12" Type R's. Gimme a couple minutes and Ill look up a Profile for you.

Profile CA400. Dont let the price fool you. They are good amps. I used 2 600Watt RMS (800SX) amps by this company on my one 12" Audiobahn Flame Q and everyone thought I had 2 15"s.

400Watt Max power
100Watt RMS x 2 at 4ohm
160Watt RMS x 2 at 2ohm
300Watt RMS x 1 at 4ohm (which most Type R's are rated unless
you got the 2ohm model.)
If you got the 2 ohm model look up the CA400m

The CA400 on ebay runs about $80 and I found one for $60. And no Im not a salesman for the company.
The Profile CA400

Hope this helps.

Profile's are alright nothing really special IMHO.... plus your suggesting a 2 channel amp... he needs to power the sub, plus the front Focals...

The 4ch rated @ 75Wrms @ 4 ohm will give him 300W rms @ 4 ohm with 2 channels bridged.

Ohh yea. I sorta got carried away on the sub. Well for the price of Profiles you can get another amp and have that power your other speakers. I guess Im just a diehard Profile man. haha. Sorry about giving you wrong info.

Im going with the kicker KX600.4.
Now I need to match this amp to the Alpine Type-R 1021D? not the 1041D, right? and wire it so it sees 4 ohms.?

yes, wire it to see 4 ohms...

I have that amp and it works very well.

If you do not have a wiring kit, ikesound.com and knuknoceptz.com are where I get my stuff from; they are both good places and have great prices, especially compared to circuit city or best buy type of thing...
