Help with selecting a AMP?

I have a 96 TA that I am in the process of setting up the stereo. I already have new speakers and a head unit. What I am trying to decide on what amp and sub to use. I am going to get the millhouse box and run one 10". I really want to run the whole system off of one amp, just to keep a cleaner look. I just do not know what multi-channel amp to use in this scenario. The kicker amps look like they can do the job, but it is hard to tell with out seeing the options in which it can be wired. Also can kicker solo baric woofer be put in the millhouse box, and what subs are recomended for tha amount of air space? I was able to run this setup before with a older punch and a 8" tubebut now I want a little more control of things. Any suggestion or comments would be appreciated!

What head unit and speakers are you running? Have you purchased a sub yet? I think stealth boxes are the way to go really, they are a little more secure than the Millhouse and weigh less too. Sounds like you will need a 5 channel amp. The MTX 4405 would more than likely be plenty of power. On a small budget I would go with an Alpine Type-S sub. PM me if you need a couple online places that can save you some money.

I have pioneer 6 1/2 two ways all the way around with a pioneer direct fit head unit with subwoofer control built in. I would like to be able to use the sub control without having to adjust gains/crossovers on the amp. I'm not looking for competition level sound, just something that sounds good. I also don't need to spend a fortune since I only drive the car about 3k a year.

The amp ya want: Memphis Belle. Has a Memphis 1000D amp (rated 1100x1 watts RMS at 1ohm) w/ a 70x4 (at 4 ohms) 4-channel amp built in as well, and is a very clean and powerful amp. Also looks awsome as well.

The Memphis Belle, would be a great choice if you can afford it. It may be more money that you are willing to spend though, but it sure doesn't lack in power.

That amp sounds really nice but I would like to keep it under $500. So what are your suggestions for other Brands (Fosgate, Kicker, Hifonics?) and what online places have the best prices and service?

Which model# Zuess do you have? the 220w or the 340w version. Also on sound domain it does not say anything about it being a 5-channel amp. In 5-channel mode how much power is distrubuted to each channel?

it is the z8000, be careful buying car stereo off the web, most companies do not authorize sales from the internet, except for a limited number of companies, crutchfield is about the only authorized internet retailer, I suggest finding what you want get a reasonable price, and go to your local specialty store alot are members of buying groups and are willing to at least come close to the price, or they can tell you that the site you found the price on is dealing in stolen or refurbed stuff ( one company was doing that with kenwood about 4 years ago)

Buy it on the web, and in the off chance the gear goes bad most sellers offer a one year warranty. If you have to replace it your generally not gonna end up paying much more than retail buying it twice. But the odds are in your favor. I have bought plenty of gear online and I have yet to have anything go bad.

I think sounddomain is an authorized dealer, I mean why buy from someone only to find out the amo was stolen, then you lose the amp and money, and from what I've seen after you pay shipping alot of times you spend more online than in a store

That sounds like what local stores say around here, but when you ask it they can match a price they look at you like you're stupid and say "We're authorized!" So what! 99% of the time you buy a quality amp nothing will go wrong. You can talk about being "authorized" and super special knowledge of the secret working of a product all you want. Bottom line is, you don't wanna hook me up with a good deal. Then I "authorize" myself to find a better one elsewhere.

The internet hasn't ruined the market, it has enlightened the buyers. Like I'm gonna pay a 100% markup just because you have a ****ty little display boothe in a whole in the wall facility.

I've ordered from Ikesound a bunch... they've got some of the best prices out there on stuff, and free shipping on everything....

the only complaint about them that I have is it normally takes them a while to ship anything out... they say 5 days... and iv'e found that to be right... I really don't mind because they typically undercut the next price by a good chunk and have good service whenever I call....

I actually just ordered an amp from there a few weeks ago.. a Kicker KX600.4 came in about 1.5 weeks, in mint condition, brand new... i've ordered a bunch of stuff from the before and NEVER had any issues with anything being "fishy"
