I have a 2000 Camaro SS, Back story- Original Problem Radio would go out and windows would not work. I was told my BCM was going out by the dealership, Fast-forward a month the radio light comes on and off and all lights in car would also go out including the speedometer light. As of now driving at night is risky because I can't tell how fast I'm going

I have just within the past 2 months
1. Replaced BCM
2. Replaced Battery
3. Have taken the car to the dealership at least 4 times to fix the problem. they do a temporary fix, Which was "Tape the wires". this does not last a day!!!


New problem, Security light is now on after BCM was replaced. The car has problem starting so I did replace the battery. My battery indicator is below normal even with a new battery. All lights in the car are still off only when it is night time. This seems to happen when the car automatically turns on the headlights at dusk.

Im afraid my starter may be going out, which may be the reason, I am having problems starting the car. but I have no idea what causes my lights to go out and the security light to come on?

Use a voltmeter and check the voltage at the battery while the car is running. What are you reading?

Should be 14.9 volts or more I believe.

Do you have any underdrive pulleys or anything?

 

I will try next time I get the car started. No, I don't have underdrive pulleys. I have no real modifications except for a cutout.

13.9 or higher, if its over 14.9 it is charging too high

 

I have a simple security mechanism and nothing upgraded for almost a year but now I am on it, will upload the upgrades soon
