Head Unit mp3 playback order...input needed

I have a Sony HU in my vette. It has a USB port on the front i use to plug in an 8 gig thumb drive (and a hard drive). This works great...however navigating folders is kind of cumbersome with a small display (I practically have to print out a list of what' there). Additionally, the order in which is displays folders is not alphabetical...it seems to go by folder creationg date. Which is totally useless. What's worse is in the individual folders (i seperate albums by folder) it doesn't play tracks by either track number or file name (which would both result in playing the album in the correct order). Instead, it seemingly uses file creation date.

I want to put a new HU in my Jeep that has a USB port as well. however, i'd like one with a more sensical sorting algorithm. What do you guys have, and how does it sort things?

Why not get a cheapo mp3 player and plug it in the AUX?

How the hell did I get in this section?

I'm thinking about a Pioneer DEH-P600UB. Look it up and see if it will do what you want.

We do that curerntly...we have a 15 gig mp3 player. However, the AUX input is quiet, and sound quality from the headphone output of my mp3 player is kinda ****ty.

All of the USB input heads I have seen just play all the files folder by folder like you said.

I haven't looked at it that much but I would think that if someone had made a significantly better interface they would be advertising it.
