gauge cluster(97 camaro)
Get a driver, 7mm hex bit, phillips bit, and a pair of pliers or small socket driver to work with that 7mm bit.
Drop the driver's need pad (7mm screws). You can undo the whole thing but you don't need to. Once that is dropped you'll see the bottom bolts holding the gauge surround bottom on.
There are two vertical bolts bolting up into the dash through the gauge surround. Use the hex bit and socket driver to get those out. You you can't fit a screwdriver style driver into those bolts and clear the column. Now undo the bottom gauge surround bolts. Once all the bolts are undone it is still held in place by snap clips. Pull straight out. It should come. If it feels very stiff then you missed a bolt.
Gauge cluster is held in by 4 7mm screws as well. It also pulls straight out.
