Fuel system shut off module
We've been talking about cutoff switches in the LS1 forum.

I'm hunting for a person electronically enclined enough to help out with designing it. I already know what I want and how I want the unit to operate. I just don't know what type of components would be the best choice.
Here's a cut&paste of what I'm looking for. I tweaked it a little from the ideas that have been posted so far.
*************************************************
My primary goals are to let a mugger/theif, who gets my car keys, start the car and get away from me. Then disable the fuel system a couple minutes later. It's usually not smart to **** off a guy with a gun while they steal your pride and joy. Let them get a mile down the road before the car shuts down. Due to this we need a timer, an easily reached secret switch to allow the timer to be bypassed allowing the car to run indefinately, a reset switch to be able to reset the system if you (or your wife) forgets to bypass the timer circuit and a complete bypass switch for when you use a valet service, repair shop or dealer service department. If I can locate the wires going to the fuel pump relay I can then splice the entire module into them with only one cut wire.
When you start the car, you'll have to hit a timer bypass button within 2 minutes (maybe adjustable). Otherwise, power going to the fuel system will be completely disconnected and remain disconnected until the system reset button is activated. So if you get mugged, they will be long gone when the car craps out in the middle of the road. Nothing attracts a cop's attention more than a car stopped in the middle of the road (except maybe an Orange SS traveling at 5 over the limit ). The thief is then left on foot too. If you get into your pickup truck soon enough you can run over the turd "on accident" as he runs down the road. Go back to your car. Hit your reset button, fire the biatch up, hit the bypass button and drive your baby home.
One of the best suggestions I've heard so far is to use exhisting switches to control the module's functions. ie - Driver's window up to bypass the timer. Rear window defroster to reset the system. Combination of the hazard lights and doors locked to enable valet mode. Combination of hazard lights and passenger window down to turn valet mode off. The beauty in this is that there is an almost infinite number of buttons you can use to control the different functions as long as they are 12V. Every installation will be different. That way you'll be the only one who knows how to control it.
I need help designing the actual module. I should be able to build it with a simple 555 timer? and a circuit board with a couple relays maybe. Clip 5 or 6 splices into the buttons you want to use and secure the module wherever you want. Installation would be realtively simple and your car isn't gonna get stolen without a tow truck.
Any ideas guys?
