Front Speakers Wont Work

I have a crap off brand cd player in my 1997 firebird with the 10 speaker monsoon system. I wired the hu up last night and i can't get the front speakers to work. I also have the 12v constant wire hooked up but my cd player resest everytime i turn the car off. All the rear speakers are working but i dont think they are workin to there full potential. Does anyone have any ideas or same problems??
Thanks

Did you splice into the stock harness or use an adapter? Did you have problems before? How did you splice the wires? You probably didn't splice them good enough for good contact.

I bought an universal adapter for the stock harness to plug into the cd player and we wired everything twice...double checked everything. If my speakers are blown in the front is it possible that they are blown to the point where no sound would come out...maybe fried?
Thanks

could be that the front pre-amp inside of the cd player is shot. best way to check is to remove radio, and switch wires with rears to test. Universal color wires are as follows front driver = White, Front Pass= Black, Rear Driver=Green, Rear Pass= Purple
