Foglights in 98 Camaro, didn't come with that!

Foglights in 98 Camaro, didn't come with that!

I bought some OEM foglights because they would be easy to mount. My car didn't come with that option. The seller gave me the switch and mounting brackets also. Now I'm thinking....is there any way to add the foglights without running my own wires? That is, do all these cars come wth the necessary wires, relays, ect. to just install it?

1. The wires to the foglight switch are there. Mounted in the center trim is a small plastic holder that just keeps the foglight switch plug from floating around. I can easily plug the switch in.
2. The mounting brackets are on the car already. I can easily mount them.
3. But, I don't see the wiring harness for the foglights. If your car came with foglights where does the wiring disappear into? That is, where does it go? It might help me look for the plugs if there are any. Or, is there some funky harness that ties into the regular lights (like a Y plug?)

Has anyone installed OEM foglights on a Camaro (98-02) that didn't come with them? Is there a way to make it all stock?

1998 Camaro Z28, Automatic, V8, 5.7L, Coupe.

Re: Foglights in 98 Camaro, didn't come with that!

Well, I think I've answered my own question. I looked in the fuse box under the hood that is supposed to have a Fog Light fuse or relay or something and the box had no contacts for such a device. That, and the fact that there doesn't seem to be any connectors to plug into the fog lights probably means you can't add stock foglights to a Camaro that didn't come with that option.

So, I guess I will make my own wiring. I will use a relay so as to keep any real current from going through the switch. I will also try to use the original switch, which came with the lights, so the setup will look more stock.
After taking the switch apart I see a blue and a yellow bulb. I'm guessing the blue bulb comes on when your headlights are on and the yellow bulb lights when you turn your fog lights on. I think I'll wire it so that just the yellow comes on when the fogs are lit.
On the upside, I'll be able to use my fogs with both low and high beams. I'll try to post something on how it went.

I don't think I've ever noticed if the foglight button lights up or not.. If it does, then one light would light up the foglight symbol, and the yellow will light up when it's on. I know the yellow does come on when you activate the lights.

So theres no factory looking way to add foglights to a 98-02? My g/f has a 01, and is wanting some nice blue ones.
