Floorboard LEDs

Has anyone put any sort of strip of LEDs in the flloor board to light it up? Was thinking about doing it,but was wondering if I would need to tap into the BCM to have them go on and off with the door.

you meant in the footwells? that one's easy to do. i have mine on a switch, but a friend made his run with the door lights with apparent ease. i can find out how he did it if you're interested.

That would be great if you could find out. I was thinking that I would need to give them a 12v source and tap the door pin switch to get them to go on and off with the door.LMK

Ha... i was thinking about doing the same thing, only i was going to cut out " camaro" into the plastic on the door sills as well as the sill itself. my only concern is that i would loose body strenght by cutting holes in my rockers. I saw on TopGear the AMG mercedes truck looking thing had blue lights under "AMG" and thought that would be awesome in a different color. i'll post a pic if nobody know's what i'm talking about. just have to wait till i get home to do that. stupid work computers

Re: Floorboard LEDs

I just bought some of these to do this. I replaced my rear view mirror with an auto dimming mirror with compass, and lost the lights in the process. I'm just going to use the wiring from that. It runs up under the driver's side A-pillar trim and along the front of the headliner. It will provide hot for a switch, so it can be used independently of the door switch/gauge dimmer, and the door will still operate it as normal. I'm also going to switch them (and the rear dome) so I can have them stay off with the door open.
