Fixing factory Bose CD player?

I don't know if I remember correctly, but is there a way to fix the factory Bose CD player so that the ERR doesn't come up everytime I put a CD in it? Is there someone out there that fixes them? I really do not want an aftermarket CD player, I think they look hideous. For me it's fine as long as it plays, I don't need anything fancy.

I would try putting a lens cleaning CD, but I feel that it won't help. There are places doing repairs to stock units, but IMHO it's not worth it.

Agreed. With the typical rates a bench tech charges for repairs it would be more economical to buy new. Sure, an after-market setup may not have the ergonomic look of the factory system but it will sound better and last a lot longer too. It's just a matter of personal preference. High quality sound is a LOT more important to me than the way the deck looks.

This place is the most commonly recommended for repairs to the Corvette Bose components:
http://www.doctordons.com/

Haven't used them myself.
