Factory stereo compatibility

Would a stereo out of a 1998 Grand Prix work in a 95 Trans-Am? Outwardly, they look exactly the same.

If possible, I'd like to swap stereos between the TA and Grand Prix. The TA has a factory cassette and 12-disc changer (out of a 96 - it wasn't available in 95), while the Grand Prix only has an in-dash CD. Both cars have sterring wheel radio controls and upgraded stereos (not the base model), but are not Bose units.

Anybody have experience with this?

Thanks,

BRAD

Thumbs up

Sorry this has nothing to do with your post. How do you like your GTP and how long have you had it? I've been thinking about picking one up for a second ride, maybe in a year or so. You can pm me if you want.

Should fit. I used one from a sunfire on my 96, so it should work fine. Mounts might not be the same but probably are since they are both pontiac.
