Factory bose questions

Hey everybody, how is the factory bose 5 speaker system set up in a 95z? Is it full range in the doors, lows in the pillars beside the back seats and lows in the factory sub on drivers side rear? The reason I ask is that I have full range sound coming from the sub and only lows coming from the pillars. When I bought the car the sub was unhooked and the factory speakers in the pillars were replaced with bazooka 6.5" which have no sound coming from the tweeters. I know the factory 6.5 were 2 ohm but would a higher ohm speaker limit the range of sound? Also is the sub supposed to be full range?

Thanks in advance,
Peyton

I have the same year car/system. I am nor sure what the impedence is for the factory (you said 2ohms') but I tried to put a JBL Midrange up front and there was barely any sound coming from them. That would explain going from a 2ohm speaker to a 4 ohm speaker. Im pretty sure the rear 6.5" "woofer" has a pretty weak crossover point and slope becaue it does seem to play all ranges. I bet its tuned by BOSE to work in the 100 to 300hz range were al lot of audible base is, in-lieu of 80hz down where you can "feel" base. Im sorry im just rambling here and havent really answered any of your questions........

Isn't Bose the ones with the amplifier built on the speaker?

The 6.5s in the doors have a small black box on the back, I guess it's an amp. The amp for the rears are in the sub box.
