You'll have to ask someone at your local dealership what the code means. There are only a couple listed in the owner's manual and none of them are of very much help. Like you need to know a code for when the CD is upside down...WTF is up with that?
From the GM Service Technology Group training manual "Audio Systems" 19007.03-4b pages 2-26 to 2-27
If ERR appears on the display and the disc comes back out, it could be that:
The disc is upside down.
It is dirty, scratched or wet.
It is very humid. If so, attempt use after HVAC system has de-humidified the interior.
Other CD Errors
E20: Focus Error. This could occur if the disc is dirty, on rough roads or if the humidity is very high.
E21: Tracking Error. (Tracking error can be caused by blemishes on the disc)
E22: Motor Error. The CD motor needs service.
E23: Communication Error.
Dew Point Operations
Under certain cold temperature and humidity conditions, moisture in the air will condense on the surrounding surfaces. This most commonly occurs in the spring and fall when moisture accumulates on the windshield and body of the vehicle if it is left out at night. The heart of the compact disc player is a laser/lens assembly reading the disc and producing the music. When this condition exists, the player may intermittently mute or eject the disc and ERR may light up on the display. This type of reaction is considered normal, and will clear as soon as the compact disc or player has warmed up enough to evaporate the moisture.
Are you sure the disc isn't upside down? Just kidding.
