Yeah I have read a lot of great reviews on their products. I guess I will have to go to a local shop and see if they have installed on in a f body.

Are you wanting to know how they look in one?

If it's a question of if it will fit or not then your answer is yes. I ran the 5443 (the first two numbers I know are right, don't know about the last two though but you get the idea) in my car last season and it's a nice CD Player HU. Check out how the faceplate looks and how the buttons are to use to see if you like them though for I'm not a fan of how the track selection and such work. It works but that's just a personal preference ya know. Oh, and on the 84xx series I think there may be an EQ built into it so check into that for that may be a plus also. (when I was playing around with the demo model I found like a 10 band EQ in it, don't know if you need an external processor to run it though.)

HTH!

Ted

Thanks, yes I was wanting to know if it will fit. I am trying to decide what will be the best for sound and as well as how it looks.

Well, the Eclipse units sound just fine. Most of the decks you compare will probably do just fine (as long as you stick to the major brands like Rockford Fosgate, Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse etc...), it's mostly a decision of which ones you like the looks of and the functions of the most.

The Eclipse do have a low output impedance which is a good thing in reducing your changes of noise in the system on the pre amp outs. In the noise judging at least years finals I aced the section for I didn't have any noise in the system so that was a good thing.

Well I am not going for competition I just want a good system. I was looking at the alpines first and then a friend told me if I was going to spent 3-400 to get a eclipse so I started looking at them.

You know, a lot of people say that. I was just pointing it out that if it's got enough quality to do good compeition wise then for good system it should work just fine also.

They've got fair prices on their stuff that's for sure. Considering in my area there's only like one place that sells them I was amazed to still get a pretty good deal it.

I have a 8443 in the 97, and a 5441 in the 85. love both of them. the last digit is the model year, so my 5441 is 3 years old. no problems, still sounds great. not much on features, but sound quality is outstanding.

just the cheapy wal-mart dash kit and wiring harness, don't remember the part #. i don't like the dash kit though, as with an eclipse unit, you can see the metal sleeve even with the trim ring on. They have a really thin trim ring, but they do look good if you can find a dash kit that has a recess for the head unit, unstead of making it stick out. there is enough room for behind the HU for the radio, even if it is recessed. I'm making my own later out of a few pieces of abs. Haven't done it yet, as I just got my kicker 12L7s installed tonight...now to finish everything else...
