Dual xd7500

Ok, so you guys are going to tell me it is crap. I know. My friend gave me his for free because he would occasionally have problems with the faceplate motor and he since bought an alpine. However, since it was free, i'd like to install it for now until i can afford a better headunit (which wont be for a long time, its not at the top of my list of priorities for my car). Anyways, what he didnt give me, because he didnt have it, was the harness that actually plugs directly into the headunit, the one that always comes with a headunit when you buy it. If anyone has a dual headunit, would you please be willing to take a picture of this harness for me so that i can see the wires colors, or draw a diagram or something. I dont feel like ordering this part from dual because i dont even know how well the unit is going to work for me so i'd rather just rig it up to work myself. Thanks

Re: Dual xd7500

hate to say it but just scrap the unit.

or you can hang around the message boards on car stereo sites until someone that has this stereo doesnt need it anymore. they honestly dont last long. we sell them and almost half of them come back in the first year becuase the stereo breaks. if you search long enough youll find someone willing to give away their old broken stereo.

i dont think its worth the effort id suggest just going out and buying a new $100 deck. BUT i also know how it is to not have $100 to spend (when i was in school money was way tight)

good luck man

went to hhgregg's install bay, the guy had a harness in the drawer he gave me for practically nothing... so i got a free headunit, free harness, all i had to buy was the harness to connect to the factory wiring and the install kit... got it in no problem, works great... but yea, i've heard many bad stories of dual. I just dont have the money now to spend on a good headunit, and i didnt feel like dumping a bunch of money into one that would work well or anything... but at least now i have something that'll work untill i can get some money saved up

Re: Dual xd7500

yea, im really happy... the motor screws up some, it'll randomely close and stuff, but im basically only using it for the radio and the inputs so i have my ipod hooked directly to it instead of using an fm transmitter... so even when the motors close the unit, it doesnt really affect anything at all, i really dont even notice it since i dont use cds...
