Cool Double Cigarette lighter socket mod...

I have a radar detector, and also just hooked up my Ipaq with a GPS system..

I went to radio shack and bought an adaptor to plug into the socket and make two sockets. That was big and bulky, and looked like crap.

So, I busted out the dremel! I noticed that where the socket was looked like it had plenty of room to just put another socket underneath, and it did.

Behold, the double cigarette lighter socket mod!

myself personally, I'd buy a new piece from gm and use that so they look the same, but it looks good.

I think the piece from GM is like $11

I'd have just hardwired the radar detector.

I didn't want to do that for the fact that I like to take both things out and use them in other people's cars. Like when going on trips and taking my girlfriend's car.. Hardwiring would make that difficult!

Fair enough, looks good though. I guess I'm just way into wiring stuff.... I'm working on 8 bulb sequential taillights for my 3rd gen.
