differences between decent alpine and stock monsoon

just wondering what you guys think of the monsoon far as sound quality and function. I noticed it has a built in equalizer. I am picking up a TA with this system, and wondering if i should throw in my alpine model cda 7894 head unit. I am wondering if I will notice any difference between the two units. If its just slight I'll just leave in the stocker. I of course planning on adding in my alpine amp and speakers regardless of which I stick with.

Re: differences between decent alpine and stock monsoon

Since the POS Monsoon system is so very poor to begin with, the amp and HU especially, adding an after-market HU will do little to improve the sound. IMO the whole factory stereo needs to be replaced or leave it alone and live with the speakers blowing and the HU crapping out on you.
